Aerospace Testing Expo 2006 Presentation
We will be presenting at the 2006 Aerospace Testing Expo in Anaheim. The topic of our presentation is:

A Centralized Approach to Ground Support Software to Reduce Technical Risk and Overall Mission Costs

Abstract:
The need for low-cost, flexible, and maintainable spacecraft ground systems is a common denominator across most space programs. General requirements for such software should emphasize reduction of risk and cost across mission phases. Today many missions use disparate test and integration systems for various mission phases like instrument development and testing, payload integration, and flight operations. Furthermore it is usually the responsibility of the instrument teams to furnish proper test systems for their respective instruments. We present out experiences with the New Horizons (Pluto) mission in providing a centralized approach to instrument testing and integration. Besides avoiding duplication of effort on the instrument teams for developing proper S/C interfaces our approach reduces down-time during the precious payload-integration time since all teams use the same tested software. We also demonstrate how such an approach allows to use STOL (Spacecraft Testing and Operating Language) scripts to be developed on the test systems and delivered to the S/C team for deployment.

GSEOS 6.0
GSEOS 6.0 for Linux has been released.
GSEOS 6.0 is a platform portable solution and is targeted for Linux and Windows 2K/XP. A Macintosh port for Intel based OS-X machines is planned for the first quarter of 2008. This allows you to run the same software on all your computing environments. Specifically Linux has the advantage of being an open source system that can address longevity concerns for long lived missions like New Horizons and similar. You can download a trial version here.
